There's sadly not much time to enjoy Factorio with friends, so from economy perspective it makes sense not to have the server running when it's not used.

The plan would be:

  1. To create Terraform configs to provision an instance (Scaleway/Digital Ocean/AWS -- whatever's cheaper)
  2. Create Ansible playbooks to install the server and the save
  3. Create Ansible playbook to stop the server and fetch the save back to the workstation
  4. Have Terraform deprovision the instance
