Keep release notes in installer in a pop-up

Especially when using multiple extensions, selecting release notes of a specific extension is not easy (scrolling the tab). Put it to a pop-up (like help) while not blocking the package installation.

ESCape

a project by sbehlert

There are a few scripts around analysing isos and helping ReleaseManagers (and others) to achieve a great release. I'd like to see this all combined in one web overview, a kind of "Enterprise Service control ape" (ok, it's more an "Enterprise Control Center mokey", but that's not an acronym ;) ).

[DOCU] Packaging, OBS, KIWI and OpenQA for a PHP project: BlueSpice Media Wiki

a project by mfeilner

Hallo Welt!, the company behind Blue Spice Media Wiki (an open source, subscription based enterprise wiki) is interested in howto package their PHP software, get it into OBS and into the whole workflow with openQA and learn how to write automated tests. This is such a generic task that I though documenting it might be worth an afternoon at hackweek together with Richard (openQA) and Darix (OBS and packaging). I'll reserve a meeting room, doc team will provide the documentation of this workflow in a "SUSE best practice guide"

Hack partnerfate

a project by sbahling

partnerFATE (based on openFATE) is the interface used by our partners to interact directly with the SUSE feature database. It's an important tool and has been a reliable service for years, but could use some updates and enhancements. My goal (if I find time) is to install a local instance of partnerfate to use as a test bed for fixes and enhancements.

Create a database of common and not so common error messages, warnings, etc. to provide references to bugzilla, TIDs, wikis, etc. When working in support you often run into issues that have unspecific or misleading error message. Google might be helpful, but especially with kernel dumps, longer traces, complex issues this doesn't help.

pxe + autoyast is awesome but when multiple people share a pxe server is a pain. I understand foreman / chef provide a solution for this, but they are linked to puppet / chef. What I want is a simple modular tool to make life easy. pxe boot would allows you to send a simple http request and the next reboot of the server / VM will boot a non interactive fresh install.

Get flashplayer (pepperflash) working again in Firefox for my standard user 'sndirsch'

an idea by sndirsch

Unfortunately flashplayer no longer works in Firefox. It freezes FF for about 1-2 minutes. With pepperflash (coming from Google) flash is not detected at all. Flash works inside of google-chrome though. The issues apply only to my standard user 'sndirsch' (~/.mozilla/ directory has been erased completely!). For a freshly created user pepperflash works fine in FF. I would like to investigate on this, since still a lot of webpages are using flash and I don't want to switch for google-chrome because of this.

Use WSL to build qemu guest agent for VMDP

an idea by kallan

Now that Windows Fall Creator is out, I wanted to enable Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL) on my VMDP build box and install openSUSE. Then inside openSUSE, I wanted to be able to build the qemu-ga component for VMDP. After adding the mingw packages along with git, I was successful in building qemu-ga. My next step is to move the built qemu-ga components into the packaging area of VMDP to produce the full VMDP package with qemu-ga in it.
