I am now maintaining many packages for openSUSE on open build service. I need to obtain the notification if certain packages have new versions. I would like to make a simple python script for this purpose.

The basic idea is to list remote git repository, get the latest tagged version can compare with the current version in local data (store in a plain file).

For the projects which do not use git, I will add support in future HW.

Looking for hackers with the skills:

python python3 git
